Lady fern is a widespread and variable fern found all over the Northern Hemisphere. Southern Lady Fern (really kind of misnamed as it is the most common form through much of the US.) Is a medium to large fern growing 1-3 feet tall and is not evergreen. It prefers moist organic rich soils in woodlands. Unlike many ferns it regularly produces fresh new fronds throughout the growing season, so it always looks good rather than tattered the way some ferns look after a bit. Full to part shade.
