This small grassy sedge occurs in a wide range of woodland habitats. It grow 8-12 inches tall, blooms in April-May and prefers part to full shade and average to dry soil. It grows as a clump but can spread by seed to form patches. Seeds look like little stars which is what gives this sedge its name. Zone 4-8; Commercial ecotype
