Eurybia surculosa (Creeping Aster)
Eurybia surculosa (Creeping Aster)
$8.00
This is a neat, small, adaptable aster of dry, open woods, meadows, and even some wetlands. It is short, reaching a height of 1-2 feet tall with violet-blue flowers in September-October. The plant has stiff narrow leaves and stems and has a woody rhizome that creeps along the ground forming loose patches. Preference is for part shade to full sun and average to dry soils. While the plant does creep, it is so small and wispy that it cannot effectively overrun an area but mixes in nicely with other small perennials. Zone 4-8. TN ecotype.
