Geum fragarioides (Barren Strawberry)
$8.00
Part sun to shade; Average to dry well drained soils; This is a relatively easy grow almost anywhere semi-evergreen groundcover. Some people mistake this plant for the weedy Indian strawberry Duchesnea indica but this is a grave mistake as this plant while fast spreading never becomes weedy. Bright yellow flowers in the spring sit atop glossy semi-evergreen leaves. in the fall the leaves turn a nice shade of purple and overwinter this way (as long as its not too cold). Grows 4-6" tall; blooms April-May; Zone 4-7; WV ecotype
