$8.50
Longflower Alumroot strongly resembles it’s cousin Heuchera americana (american alumroot). It differs in several ways. First it prefers a more lime-rich, rocky habitat in the wild though it is adaptable. It has grater sun tolerance. It’s flowers appear slightly earlier than american alumroot and are rather larger and more conspicuous though still not especially flashy. The leaves are very colorful but this is a trait that is highly variable just as it is in the american alumroot. The plant, with flower stalks, grows 1-2 feet tall. Yellowish flowers appear May-June. Zone 5-8. KY-TN ecotypes.
