This is a very rare plant found in just a few places in Alabama. It's hardiness outside of it's natural range is unknown at the moment. Tell me if it survives cold northern winters. It is similar in appearance to a sunflower or a coreopsis. It grows along lightly shaded, moist streambanks over limestone bedrock. Grows 3-4 feet tall. Smooth stems and narrow leaves. Bright yellow sun-flower like flowers appear from August to September. Attractive and may be good for urban rain-gardens. Zone 6-8? AL ecotype
