Light shade; Rich, moist but well-drained soil; Discovered by Peter Heus of Enchanters Garden in the mountains ow Western North Carolina this color form of Monarda didyma bears flowers that are a rich dark red like wine or blood. Not as aggressive as the typical form and possibly preferring cooler summers as well. Blooms July-August; Grows 3-4' tall; NC ecotype
