Sun to shade; Moist rich to average soil; Appalachian Jacobs Ladder is a fairly rare plant found entirely in the Appalachian mountains and most especially in the Adirondack mountains of New York; It grows in wet ditches, swamps, and wet woodlands and fields. Bloom are tall, upright and deep blue. Flowering occur in summer from June-July; Grows 1-2' tall; Zone 4-6; NY ecotype
