Pycnanthemum verticillatum var. pilosum (Hairy Mountain Mint)
Pycnanthemum verticillatum var. pilosum (Hairy Mountain Mint)
$8.50
Hairy mountain mint is similar in habitat and appearance to Virginia mountain mint (Perhaps growing in somewhat drier and shadier places) except that it is covered in a fine soft down on its stems and leaves. This gives the plant a grayish-white appearance especially in the morning when dew collects on the down. Like all mountain mints this one attracts a fair share of pollinators. Grows 3-4' tall. White flowers appear from mid June through August. Zone 5-8. WV and commercial ecotypes as available.
