Formerly Aster prenanthoides. This is an attractive, shorter, blue aster for damp woodlands, thichets, stream-edges and other low wet areas. Preference is for part shade and moist soil. Grows 2-3 foot tall with broad leaves. Can spread to form a loose colony but not especially aggressive. Mixes well with other woodland plants. Light blue flowers from August to October. Zone 4-7. WV ecotype. // Seed packet, about 50 seeds. Germination requirements: 60 days cold, moist stratification.
