Sun to part shade; well drained, moist, rich soil;  found in woodland settings on stream banks; the generous amounts of foliage this plant produces fills out an area in an incomparable, English cottage garden sort of way; This variety of the plant is taller (3-4 feet) but with narrower leaves than the standard kind; the blossoms are light blue, star-shaped in Apil-May; Zones 4-8.
