Slender goldentop is similar to Grass-leaved Goldenrod (Euthamia graminifolia) but is smaller and finer textured. It also has a range confined to the coastal plain of the Eastern United States from Maine to Florida. Preference is for full sun and dry sandy soil. Grows 1-3 feet tall with yellow flowers in September-October. Spreads rapidly by underground roots but is restrained by the harshness of the habitat it prefers. Zone 4-9.
