Sticky catchfly is a small phlox-like perennial that loves dry stony woodlands and embankments. Soils must be dry and low in smothering leaf cover. Usually in light shade but can tolerate full sun. Blooms April-May with white to pink flowers. Entire plant is covered in a sticky oil that traps small flies. Grows 3-6 inches tall. Zone 5-8. MO. ecotype.
