Solidago rugosa is a tall perennial of fields, prairies, and moist wetlands. Tolerates a wide variety of soils. Grows 3-5 feet tall and has yellow flowers August-September. Fireworks cultivar was originally discovered in a wetland behind a garage in North Carolina. It differs slightly from more typical forms of the plant in that it has longer, narrower flower clusters.
