Formerly Aster oblongifolius; Full sun; well-drained soil or shale; a beautiful Aster that is about the last wildflower to bloom before winter; forms bushy, violet-purple mounds of flowers- happy most anywhere with good drainage and lots of sun, especially likes south or west-facing slopes; individual blossoms 1”-1.5”; hardy in zones 4-8; Va. ecotype.
