Black Haw Viburnum is a large shrub or small tree of dry acidic woodland edges, hedgerows and thickets. It grows 10 to 15 feet tall with white flowers May-June. Prefers average or dry, often rocky soils and full to part sun. Foliage turns a brilliant red in the autumn when the fruit matures to a blue-black. Fruits are edible but are mostly seed.
