Sun; Average to wet sandy or mucky soil; This is a short lived perennial which occurs in coastal swamps and floodplains; Strappy leaves grow into a tall stalk up to 6' tall topped with steely blue-grey flowers that attract lots of pollinators. Seeds heavily but needs open soil for them to germinate and replace the parent plant. Grows 3-6'; Blooms July-September; Zone 5-10; PA ecotype.
