The wild hyacinth sports beautiful spikes of large light purple flowers, and blooms in early May, disappearing shortly thereafter in summer.  Grows in full sun to light shade in rich, well-drained soils.  This plant is found in abundance further west in prairies and limestone rich glades but is much less common in the east. 1’-2’ tall; Zones 5-8; Mid-west. ecotype.
