Eurybia divaricata (White Wood Aster)
Formerly Aster divaricatus. The white wood aster is a common late summer to early autumn blooming wildflower of a variety of woodlands. Tolerant of deep shade to partial shade and can also be found in moist (but not wet) woodlands as well as dry upland woods. Spreads to form a thick groundcover this plant is often one of the keystone plants of the woodland understory. Grows 1-2 feet tall. Full to part shade. Average to dry soils. White flowers from August to October. Looks great with woodland ferns, woodland goldenrods and other large woodland wildflowers. Zone 3-8. Multiple ecotypes as available.
