American holly is a large, slow-growing, evergreen tree to 30-40 feet tall. It is dioecious (separate male and female trees) but these are unsexed as they are seed grown rather than from cuttings of known sex. Berries are typically red-orange though yellow ones are sometimes found. Makes a nice hedge! Patience is needed though as the tree only grows several inches a year. Zone 5-9. Commercial ecotype.
