A familiar landscape plant that is typically only available as a cultivar. These seed-grown plants will produce large shrubs (8-12 feet tall) that sucker to form a thicket. Preference is for full sun and wet to moist soil. Plants have white flowers in late spring (June - July) that attract a large number of small pollinators. Plants are dioecious (separate male and female shrubs) and as these are seed grown, I do not know which each plant is. Only the female plants will have bright red fruits in the Autumn and Winter.
