Cucumber tree magnolia is a tall, straight-trunked tree resembling is some ways, Tulip tree in habit and habitat. Growing to 70 feet tall and preferring full sun to part shade and average deep soils. It is often found in alluvial soils near rivers. Flowering occurs April-May. Flowers are typically greenish-white though there are rare, yellow-flowered populations.
