Royal fern grows in wet meadows, swamps, marshes, pond and stream edges. It typically grows 2-3 feet tall but, in some cases, can reach at least 5 feet tall. Tolerates full sun to full shade and prefers wet organic rich soil. zone 3-9. Commercial ecotype.
