Passiflora lutea (Yellow Passionflower)

Passiflora lutea (Yellow Passionflower)

$10.50

Yellow Passionflower is a large, rambling, herbaceous vine that has a reputation for aggressiveness. It can be a bit much, especially in a small garden or in rich soil. Best planted in poor, dry soil in order to constrain its growth or else just give it plenty of room. Full sun to part shade. This plant is usually found in dry, limestone-rich soils throughout the Appalachians. Grows 6-12 feet tall and spreads indefinitely. Plant sports small yellow flowers from July to September. There is a unique pollinator for this plant: the Passionflower Bee which is seldom seen and may be quite rare. VA ecotype. Zone 6-9
