Smooth Beardtongue is similar to Calico Beardtongue but with typically more pale flowers and a more eastern distribution. Preference is for full to part sun in moist to average soil. Pink flowers appear on 2 foot tall stalks in May to June. Typically found in low woodlands, wet meadows, stream-sides and other lowland areas. Good for use in rain-gardens. Zone 3-8. SC ecotype.
