Coast azalea is native to coastal pine woodlands from New Jersey to Florida. Preference is for part shade and well-drained acidic sandy soil. Can tolerate heavier soils if well amended with compost. Grows 2 to 6 feet tall. Blooms April to May with fragrant white to pink (very occasionally yellow) flowers. Zone 6-8. Unknown ecotype.
