Rosebay rhododendron is our common, native evergreen rhododendron that grows to tree-like proportions 12-15 feet tall. Flowers range from pink to white and bloom in the summer (June-July). This is a fairly slow growing shrub and big ones can be half a century old or more. Preference is for cool summer climates, shade and rich, acidic, well-drained soil. Zone 3-7. NC ecotype.
