Torrey’s mountain mint is a rather rare species of dry meadows and barrens. It bears a strong resemblance to Virginia mountain mint (Pycnanthemum virginicum) but has broader leaves. Indeed it will readily hybridize with other mountain mint species and intergrades are more common than the true species. Grows 2-3 feet tall and has spreading stolons that will form a large colony.
