Roundleaf Catchfly is a small, short-lived perennial that is similar to Silene virginica, but with rounded leaves and a smaller stature. Preference is for part to full shade and very dry soil. Tends to grow on cliffs, bluffs, barrens and dry, rocky woods. Grows 4-8 inches tall. Red flowers from May-July. Zone 4-8. TN ecotype. Seed packet, about 50 seeds. Germination requirements: 60 days cold, moist stratification.
