Starry campion is a delicate wispy perennial that grows in sandy acidic woodlands, clearings and woods-edges. Part shade is preferred though it can tolerate some sun. Soils should be well-drained. white frilly flowers appear in June-July on 3-4 foot tall stems. The ecotype we grow often has purple-ish leaves and stems. Zone 5-8.
