Part Shade; Rich woodsy soil, typically found in mountains and along high ridges. This lovely small tree (or large shrub) is very slow growing but worth the wait. Clusters of very lightly scented flowers appear in the summer (June-July) on a very upright non-stoloniferous stems that develop a flaky cinnamon color with age. Can reach 15-20' tall.
