Elephants foot (no part of this plant resembles an elephant…what a name!) is a small aster like plant that seeds prolifically to form an extensive groundcover under ideal situations. Preference is for average to dry well-drained soil and full to part sun. Grows 1-2 foot tall with broad leaves that are larger at the base. Plants dense growth easily suppresses weeds, even stiltgrass. Blue to white flowers appear from August to October. These seeds came from a population of mixed blue and white plants. Zone 4-9.
