White gentian is a striking autumn flower for those looking for something that is not an aster or a goldenrod. Preference is for full to part sun and moist soils. Growing 1-2 foot tall and topped with white, bottle-gentian type flowers that remain tightly closed for the most part. Bumblebees must force their way in to pollinate it. Blooming occurs in from late Summer to Autumn (August to September). Zone 3-7.
