Hairy Alumroot is very variable with some populations having large green leaves and others with smaller olive or bronzed foliage. This strain is from West Virginia and has smaller, olive colored leaves with a few bronzed ones mixed in. Preference is for part to full shade though sun is sometimes tolerated in cooler climates. Average to dry gritty soil is desired. Grows 10-12 inches tall. White flowers appear July-August. Zone 3-8. WV ecotype. / Seed packet, about 100 seeds. Germination requirements: Sow on surface. Do not cover. 60 days cold, moist stratification.
