Light shade to full sun; average to moist rich soil; golden yellow flowers composed of 5 petals with contrasting chocolate brown anthers and tropical looking compound leaves; a showy, eye-catching plant for gardens as a specimen and for naturalizing; 3’-6’ tall; blooms Jul-Aug. Very similar to Senna marilandica, this species is slightly taller and has hairy stems and seed pods; hardy in zones 4-8;  WV. ecotype.
