Tiarella austrina 'Slickrock' (Creeping Foamflower)
Tiarella austrina 'Slickrock' (Creeping Foamflower)
The identity of various species under the genus: Tiarella, is currently in flux. In order to separate the forms, I have in the nursery I am using the new naming convention. That puts “stolonifera” and “austrina” together in the stoloniferous group of foamflowers. Part to full shade; Average well-drained woodsy soil; Nice semi-evergreen groundcover for rich shady woodland gardens. Leaves are small and the plant prefers to grow over mossy rocks in dark cove forests. Typically, white foamy flowers appear in April-May over maple-like leaves sometimes marked with patterns. Grows 4-8" tall; Zone 4-9; Unknown Ecotype
