Tiarella wherryi (Wherry's Foamflower)
Tiarella wherryi (Wherry's Foamflower)
The identity of various species under the genus: Tiarella, is currently in flux. In order to separate the forms, I have in the nursery I am using the new naming convention. That puts “cordifolia” and “Wherryi” together in the non-stoloniferous or clump-forming group of foamflowers. Part to full shade; Average well-drained woodsy soil; Nice semi-evergreen perennial for rich shady woodland gardens. Flowers and foliage are variable depending on the plant’s origin. Typically, white foamy flowers appear in April-May over maple-like leaves sometimes marked with patterns. Grows 4-8" tall; Zone 4-9; Unknown Ecotype
