Poppy mallow is a taprooted, low, groundcover from dry, gravely prairies in the mid-west. Numerous dark purple/pink hibiscus-like flowers appear for a long period of time from May to July. Growing less than a foot tall on long trailing stems this plant is a perfect filler for a dry hillside garden. Soil should be well drained and dry. Full to part sun. An intense accent sure to get noticed! Zone 4-8. Mid-west ecotype.
