Hairy Alumroot is very variable with some populations having large green leaves and others with smaller olive or bronzed foliage. This strain has dark bronze-colored foliage and used to be called “var. atropurpurea” before being given a cultivar name. Preference is for part to full shade though sun is sometimes tolerated in cooler climates. Average to dry gritty soil is desired. Grows 10-12 inches tall. White flowers appear July-August. Zone 3-8.
