Wild hydrangea is a small woodland shrub growing 3-5 feet tall with upright stems and white flower clusters that sometimes have more showy sterile flowers along the margin. Preference is for part to full shade and rich woodland soils. Often found on steep hillsides and cliffs where deer cannot reach them. Flowers appear from June to August. A great midseason flowering shrub. Zone 3-9. WV ecotype.
