Sweetbay magnolia is a small to medium sized tree of coastal wet woodlands. It is very adaptable to most any soil though and is widely planted and very popular for its neat appearance, sweet smelling flowers and semi-evergreen leaves. Can grow 20-35 feet tall. Flowers June-August. Zone 5-10. Unknown ecotype.
