This annual grass hails from brackish marshes along the Atlantic coast. However it adapts well to any wet garden of pond edge. Grows between 6 and 12 feet tall with huge seed plumes from late summer to autumn that attract many birds. Away from its main habitat it may grow considerably shorter.
