Georgia aster is a very rare relative to the late-purple aster. They appear very similar but the Georgia aster flowers are considerably larger and fuller. Flowering occurs much later too, from October into November. In the north they sometimes get touched by frost. Though fully root-hardy, a sheltered location near ,say, a western wall in autumn is probably best outside of the deep south. Growing from 1-3 feet tall and preferring full sun to part shade and well drained soil. Zone 5? -8. GA ecotype. // Seed packet, about 50 seeds.
