Full sun; light shade; rich, wet, even mucky; this striking plant of wetlands belongs to the rose family and has attractive pinnately compound leaves comprised of saw-toothed leaflets; sends up tall stems topped with bottlebrush shaped spikes of white flowers in mid-summer; for pond edges, low, wet areas and wet meadows; plants 2’-6’ tall; blooms July-Oct; zones 3-7; WV. ecotype.
