This is a short, rhizomatous goldenrod found in the wild in dry limestone-rich woodlands, cliffs and other stony calcareous habitats. Adapts well to an average dry garden where it forms a short autumnal groundcover. Grows 1-2 feet tall. Yellow flowers appear on arching stalks August to October. Part sun is preferred though can tolerate full shade in dry soils. Looks great with Solidago bicolor, Eurybia surculosa, Ageratina altissima, Symphyotrichum undulatum. Zone 4-8 / VA ecotype.
